Checking if Your Data is on the Dark Web

The dark web is a concealed segment of the internet, unreachable by standard search engines. Accessing it requires specific software. This hidden realm often harbors illicit activities, including the sale of drugs, weapons, and stolen personal data.

If you’re concerned that your personal information might have been sold on the dark web, there’s a way to verify. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Accessing Google’s Security Check:

Begin by launching Google Chrome and signing into your Gmail account. Then,

2. Navigating to the Dark Web Report:

On the following screen, look for the “Dark Web Report” option.

3. Running the Scan:

Beneath the “Dark Web Report”, there’ll be a “Try Now” option. Clicking it will lead you to a page that checks if your Google account details are available on the dark web. At the bottom, you’ll see two choices: “Not Now” and “Run Scan”. Opt for “Run Scan”.

4. Viewing Results:

Once the scan is complete, you’ll find an option labeled “View All Results”. Click it to determine if your data has been compromised.
